Before you use the solver
The solver sends the problem you type to a language model in order to work on it. Treat the box the way you would treat a search engine: no unpublished research, no unannounced plans, no client or patient material, no details about identifiable people. It is built for philosophical and conceptual problems stated in the abstract, and for nothing that needs to stay private.

It is not operated on behalf of any institution, employer or publisher, there is no company behind it, and it carries neither advertising nor sponsorship. Controller and applicable law
The site is operated and hosted in the United States. It is reachable from the European Economic Area, so for visitors there the General Data Protection Regulation applies by virtue of Art. 3(2) GDPR; the controller within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR is the provider named above. Processing therefore takes place outside the EEA.
What this site is, technically
Two static pages and one serverless function. There is no user account, no login, no contact form and no newsletter. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising and no session recording, and it stores nothing in your browser — not in local storage, not in session storage, not in IndexedDB. Reloading the page discards everything, including any answer you have not saved yourself.
It also loads nothing from anyone else's server — no fonts, no scripts, no images, no stylesheets. The Inter typeface is served from this site; it used to be fetched from Google Fonts, which disclosed every visitor's IP address to Google before the page had rendered. Opening a page contacts exactly one host: the one in your address bar. You leave it only when you click through to a source.
Server logs
Hosting is by Netlify. Like any web server, its infrastructure logs the requests it serves — typically IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status, bytes transferred, user agent and referrer. This is technically unavoidable and is the only routine server-side collection; it serves operation and security, it is not analysed by the provider of this site, and the retention period follows Netlify's own. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
What the solver sends, and where
Nothing leaves your device until you press Find the MCT Solution. When you do, the text you typed is sent to this site's own function, which forwards it to Anthropic PBC through Netlify's AI Gateway together with the instructions that define the four reasoning stages. The answer is streamed back to your browser as it is written.
Nothing is stored. The function keeps no log, no database and no copy; it passes the text on, streams the answer back and forgets both. Recipients are Netlify, Inc. as host and gateway operator and Anthropic PBC as the model provider, both in the United States. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR — the performance of the operation you asked for.
The API key is held by the gateway and never reaches your browser.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), and under Art. 77 the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Requests go to the address above. The answer will be short, because apart from the server logs nothing about you is held here — the site has no record of what anyone has asked it.
No representative in the Union under Art. 27 GDPR has been designated. The provider relies on the exception in Art. 27(2)(a): occasional processing, no large-scale processing of special categories of data, and no likely risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons. Should that assessment cease to hold, a representative will be designated and named here.
Notice for California residents
Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 22575–22579): the categories collected are network-activity information in the form of the server logs described above. Name, postal address, email address and telephone number are not collected — the site has no field in which to enter them. The text you type into the solver is transmitted to the model provider in order to answer it and is not retained by this site. Recipients are named above — Netlify and, only for the solver, Anthropic; no sale or sharing for marketing takes place. There are no user accounts and therefore no stored profile to review or amend.
Do Not Track: this site does not track visitors over time or across third-party websites, so it does not change its behaviour in response to a Do-Not-Track signal — there is no tracking to switch off. Material changes are published on this page with a new date.
Children
This site addresses adults in a scholarly or professional context. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Rights in the ideas presented
The method presented here is the published work of Louis Vervoort and his co-authors; the corpus is listed on the introduction page. This site is an independent presentation of that work, not authorised, endorsed by or affiliated with its author, his co-authors or their publishers. All rights in the publications rest with them. Nothing here reproduces those texts; the site summarises and links.
The external links — the introductory video and the papers cited — lead to material for which their respective operators are responsible. They were checked when set; continuous monitoring without concrete cause is not practicable, and any link will be removed promptly if a problem is brought to notice.
No warranty — and what the solver is not
Offered free of charge and without warranty of any kind.
The solver is a demonstration of the shape of a method, not an application of it and not a source of philosophical authority. Three things are worth stating plainly:
- The four stages — Cartographer, Theorist, Critic, Synthesiser — are four sections of a single prompt answered in one pass, not four independent reviewers. They share one context, and a mistake made in the first stage is not caught by the third.
- What comes back is generated text. It can be confidently wrong, can invent positions and attributions, and does not become reliable by being structured.
- Selecting the "maximally coherent theory" is a philosophical judgement, not a computation. The label in the output marks where the model ended up, not a demonstrated result.
Verify anything you intend to publish or rely on against the primary literature.
Status: 22 August 2026. If this statement and the behaviour of the site ever diverge, the statement is the thing that is wrong, and it will be corrected — the description follows the code, not the other way round.
